坦尚尼亞是一個咖啡歷史豐富且咖啡栽種面積廣大的國家，主要產區為吉力馬札羅山與梅魯山，是兩座土質非常肥沃的火山，
咖啡制度和風味與肯亞相似，且咖啡為該國最主要的經濟作物，其中70%栽種的是阿拉比卡生豆，生長在坦尚尼亞的東北部，
30%是羅布斯塔，主要在西北邊靠近盧安達和烏干達的卡蓋拉Kagera產區。
坦尚尼亞生豆以水洗法為主，分級方式與肯亞一樣，是依照豆子顆粒大小和風味分級。
